VdB 142: The Elephant Trunk Nebula in IC 1396 - Natural and Narrowband Hybrid Combination This picture is an "hybrid" combination of L-RGB and narrowband Ha-SII-OIII images of VdB 142 "The Eelephant Trunk Nebula", a part of the bigger complex IC 1396 in Cepheo. The natural L-RGB colours picture posted on the previous (left) place, has been enhanced using a Narrow Band Image Ha-SII-OIII of the same subject. The Narrow Band Image has allowed to increase the visibility of the fine details of the head and the trunk of the Eelephant, as well as the faint gas and dust nuances all around it.
